Hi guys

This will be my first post on this forum, so please have some mercy for my bad English :).

Lately I started thinking about new display like P2314H, but after seen something like this videos below I start doubting in dell quality and sens spending additional 50$ to this product.

or

(Please visit the site to view this video)

(I know this is for P2414H)

So in the end I have one very important question :

P2314H is really "Flicker Free" (it use DC instead PWM to dimming WLED)?

For me P2414H have significant too big pixel pitch and screen to sit about 1m from it (for me).

PS.

In work I use P2212H and Vostro, a few years now ...

with kind regards

P2715Q 4K resolution missing!

Hello
A couple weeks ago I purchased the P2715Q monitor and today it finally arrived.

Once I turned on my computer, it automatically recognized the monitor and had the 4k resolution working just by plugging it in basically.

After a couple minutes the monitor went to "power save mode" (who knows why! because I was surfing on the net) and couldn't get it back on.

I rebooted the computer and the screen was on 4k resolution as before. Tried testing the resolution on an old game and at the beginning everything was fine. Minutes after, the screen went black, had to close the game (by pressing a console key - couldn't see anything). The O.S. was black too and again...I rebooted the computer! (message on monitor "power save mode")

The second time I rebooted, the display didn't come with the 4k resolution, now the recommended and maximum resolution is FULLHD (1920x1080).

My first thought was that the driver got corrupted. I uninstalled the driver via device manager, downloaded the newest drivers for my video card and monitor but nothing!

I cannot see the 4k resolution [:S]

Specs:
Video card: Gefoce GTX 660; driver version 355.82  (this video card does support 4K resolutions)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate; 64bit (SP1)
Monitor's drivers I have tested: DELL_P2715Q-MONITOR_A00-00_DRVR_9XV8F.exe; DELL_P2715Q-MONITOR_A00-00_DRVR_7XVDJ.exe
Display port: mDP input

Please help!

S2240T- Windows 10 in- compatible

I have installed Windows 10 and it turned my S2240T to a complete brick.  Have gotten nowhere with Dell, they say there are no drivers.  I have had to roll-back Windows 10, but I work for MSFT and will need to upgrade soon.  I want the monitor to work as designed (meaning a solution with no touch screen will not work)

Dell u2412m does not work after reboot/sleep on displayport with Windows 10

I have a similar issue as described in:

I have a different GPU than his, an AMD Radeon HD7950, so it's not the graphics card. It's the combination of Windows 10 and the u2412m.

The monitor is the main display, the middle one of three monitors. When the machine has rebooted during the night, or sometimes when it wakes from sleep, the display resolution is reduced to 640x480. The device manager identifies it as a non-PNP monitor! The resolution can't be changed back via software. What does work is unplugging and replugging the display port cable into the back of the monitor; at that point, the monitor is properly recognized.

There appears to be a handshake issue or similar between Windows 10 and u2412m on displayport, so whenever the machine has

I am appalled at the "not certified for Windows 10" reply. This is the newest of my five monitors, eight including the the work monitors, and the only one that has any issue with Windows 10. And I read that other people have the same issues with the u2412m.

The thing is, under Norwegian law, this is probably a warranty issue. We have a five year complaint time, and this is a design issue.

Hi,

I have a U2713H with a suspected faulty USB hub. Recently I upgraded my machine to a Windows 10, and I want to redo the color calibration using X-rite i1displayPro. I downloaded the latest Dell calibration software v1.5.8. The software was able to detect my X-rite calibrator but unable to detect the U2713H monitor. All the memory card reader also undetected in windows. As the result I cant do any calibration at all! I tried to send and contact Dell tech support an email, but it keeps asking for service tag! My monitor has no service tag! I tried to call, and it's asking for service tags too! Please kindly help. My monitor needs to be repaired/replace. I bought it in 2013, it should be still under warranty. I bought it from Dell Singapore.
I have done some troubleshooting as below:-
1. Swapping USB cable (using USB2.0 cable to try too) on upstream connector - cant detect any memory card slot, slot in USB stick on side - it gave a couple of blinks and died off. no detection done.
2. On/Off monitor
3. Windows device manager USB hub power savings disabled
4. Load latest available driver None of the above works.
5. Check all my system USB 3.0 slots with USB sticks, all working

Hello,

I have just bought a new Dell u2413 monitor, when I tried to execute the first calibration i was asked by the software to connect the monitor with the USB cable.

First of all, the pc has recognized a device only when plugged on one of the four available usb port on the monitor (with the other 3 no device is seen and recognized) and even if I installed the last realtek driver getting it from their site, the device is not recognized.

I get as description always

USB device unrecognized (device descriptor request failed)

I tried also to force the use the realtek driver but without success, i get as decription Realtek 3.0 card reader but with the warning the device is not working

My operating system is windows 8.1 Pro.

Does anyone know how could i procede.

Hi,

Just brought a Dell U2515H monitor to use with my Dell Latitude E6510 laptop.

  • Native resolution.
  • Monitor set as primary display.
  • Latest drivers
  • Latest Dell display manager

Recently i adjusted the brightness and contrast of my Dell S2240L from the factory default. I set the brightness at 63 and contrast at 43 from Dell Display Manager keeping it in Auto Mode. Then one day i saw that the monitor is not working. I saw there is no power in the monitor adaptar. I reported it to 18004254026 for the replacement of the adapter. They replaced my adapter. But i am still scared of changing the brightness and contrast from factory default. Is my reason for scare is justified ? What i should do ?

Dell U2515H - resolution issue

Hello,

I want to get full resolution of U2515h via DVI port, because my video card Asus nVidia GTX 560 TI CUII doesn't have a HDMI output, only mini-hdmi and DVI.

Please, tell me if a get a Display Port to HDMI cable ( which support up to 4K ) + an adapter from HDMI to DVI, it will works? i will get de full resolution of U2515H?

The 2nd solution: HDMI-HDMI and also adapter, HDMI to DVI. Or, if you have a better solution, it's perfect.

The 3nd solution: to change the video card, but i don't because it's ok and support up to 2560 x 1600.

Thank you.

U2312HM, screen discoloration/burn-in

Model: Dell UltraSharp U2312HM 23" Monitor

Issue: I have two of these monitors, soon after purchase the first monitor had an issue with the backlight flickering and a pink colour tint covering half the screen, That was quickly RMA'ed by Dell. I now have a similar issue on the other monitor though not quite as severe. It covers roughly the right 1/3 of the monitor there is a grey/green colour tint with horizontal lines visible and a 'waterfall' effect that looks similar to the refreshing scanlines on an old CRT monitor, In addition if a static image is left over that area for a few minutes and then moved some pink/green burn in is clearly visible in the affected area. The burn in, tinting and 'waterfall' effect fades out gradually from the edge until it reaches around the middle of the screen where it is no longer visible.

The problem is a persisting one but occasionally rectifies itself by instantly dissapearing and may be absent from between several seconds to a week or so before instantly reappearing again at seemingly random intervals, though it first started several months ago.

I am confident that it is an issue with the monitor as I have tested: GPU drivers, GPU Crossfire disabled and enabled, Different Cables, Ensured cables are well seated, Tried DP connection instead of DVI-D, Hard Reset, different resolutions, The Dell monitor self test was sucessful however in the Dell BID all coloures were displayed but the problem persisted, mostly visible on the the Grey and White screens

something that may have possibly caused the issue is that it's quite hot where I live as I dont have air conditioning the temperatures inside my house can reach 35 degrees Celcius in summer.

I purchased this monitor back in July 2013 but I'm not certain If it is still in warranty, I have yet to contact my countries Dell Customer Support. I did not purchase extended warranty. If I am not covered by warranty anymore are there any possible fixes for this issue?

U3415W brief horizontal white lines

$

Hi I recently bought a U3415W (last week) and am having an issue where a white horizontal pixel line will show up randomly for about 1/4 of a second, it will be about 1/3-1/5 of the screen width. This happens usually within a minute of turning on my computer and monitor (my monitor and computer are tied together at my UPS so when the computer turns off the UPS cuts power to the monitor), and a line will show up randomly, sometimes every minute, sometimes several within 15 seconds.

I uploaded a video of the line here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-Y4qzBCp-yKMGFDdVZIV0VaNzQ/view?usp=sharing It happens 13 seconds into the video.

This happens when:

I use the Dell-supplied DP-miniDP cable with DP 1.2 enabled.

I use the Dell-supplied DP-miniDP cable with DP 1.2 disabled.

I use the Dell-supplied HDMI cable with DP 1.2 enabled.

I use the Dell-supplied HDMI cable with DP 1.2 disabled.

I have found that power-cycling the monitor or cycling the DP 1.2 setting have temporarily *fixed* the issue. The issue will return a few minutes later, but typically at a reduced frequency.

A couple times I have chosen to ignore then lines and after about 1 hour of monitor use (with the random lines appearing) the monitor started displaying moving green lines. Here’s the video of that happening: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-Y4qzBCp-yKczdqYlVJTlR0MGs/view?usp=sharing

Again, this (green lines) has only happened a couple times. Usually I power-cycle the monitor about 10 minutes after turning it on, and this seems to keep the green lines from showing up.

I have accessed the self-test screen sequence, and the monitor displays the colors and font with no issues. I watch the screen while cycling through and have not seen any white lines show up yet, but the self-test screens only stay active for a couple minutes.

I’ve also updated the monitor’s driver with the one on Dell’s website and I’ve updated my graphics card driver to the latest one (GeForce 355.82).

Could this be an issue with the monitor’s input hardware/software or compatibility with the graphics card I have? I haven’t had any issues like this with previous monitors.

P2314T will not turn on after overnight power save mode

$

P2314T monitor, Windows 10, HDMI1 input.

When returning to the computer after overnight, the monitor will not turn back on.  The computer/Windows is fine.  The power light on the monitor is turned on (white) but the screen will not display anything including built-in menu or diagnostics.  It remains completely black.  Only unplugging and replugging in the monitor will get it to work again.  This monitor worked fine for many months but started this behavior more recently, on Windows 8.1 and after Windows 10 upgrade.  Drivers are up-to-date.

After a brief power-save (e.g. let computer idle for 10 minutes, then montior goes into power-save mode, then wake) it will resume properly.  But not after a longer time (e.g. over night).  So I have this problem every single morning.  Not sure how to get DELL support since there is no Service Tag since this is a monitor problem not a computer problem.

P2314T passes all BID and has been factory reset.  Still broken.

Thank you for your help.

U2414H - Stuck pixels black border

Hello,

I have recently purchased a U2414H monitor and it has a 'stuck pixel' in 3 out of its 4 corners. They are not in the usable area but in the black border next to the metal frame.

In addition to that, the top 2 corners have a slightly signal of what seems adhesive.

They are very minor defects but I was expecting a perfect finish.

Is this something that somebody else has experienced?

Many thanks,

J

U3415W, Setup of USB ports

There are two USB inputs (upstream) and four outputs (downstream). What is the difference in the inputs and do both support USB 3.0? Do the inputs control different outputs. In the User Guide the inputs are labelled 8-1 and 9-1 and the outputs 8-1 and 8-2 and 9-1 and 9-2. There is also a recommendation in the Guide to use either 9-2 or the port on the back of the monitor whenever possible. Why?

Suggestions and answers would be appreciated as the User Guide does not address them.

Issues connecting my Mac Mini to my new Dell U2413 Monitor

Hello, when I connect my Mac Mini to my new Dell U2413 via HDMI all images and text look grainy.  The images looked great with my old Dell Monitor so I do not think it is an issue with my MAC.  Also when I connect my PC notebook via Displayport the images look great and there are no issues.  I have read in other forums it could be an issue of the Mac thinking the Dell Monitor is a TV.  Any suggestions on how to fix.  I have checked the resolution and it is 1920 x 1200 so this is not the issue

Trying to factory reset my u2413 monitor

I have a Dell u2413 monitor.  I want to reset it to factory defaults.  I go to the monitor control buttons and move to menu>other settings>factory reset.  There is no arrow to move to the right column.  However, I select (check) the factory reset line and a box comes up asking if I want to reset the montior.  the box contains two buttons, NO is blue, and YES is black.  However, I cannot move between the buttons.  When I select the up or down arrow on my keyboard, it only highlights different icons on my desktop.  The cursur disappears behind the box.  When I hit Return, the box disappears.  Because the NO button is blue, I don't think hitting the Return key reset the monitor.  Is there something I am missing?

Where are the USB ports on the S2715H?   Will these ports charge a keyboard, specifically the Logitech K800.

Is it worth calling Dell for this and if so how

One of my monitors (just over 1 year old and therefore out of warranty) has developed a column of flickering black lines.  If you shut off the monitor and turn it back on, it goes away but slowly redevelops (first a handful of lines then more and more). It happens even when disconnected from the computer so it's not a computer issue.

Is it worth asking about a repair for this?  A new one, exact same model, appears to be around $150-170...won't a repair be at least that much if not more?

If I should call Dell, how do I do it?  The support pages are a nightmare to sift through.  I don't have a service tag because it isn't a computer (and I bought the two monitors as a separate line item so even though they were purchased together they're not on the same order number...nightmare!!!)
