U2715W fails to pass through MST (DP daisy chain) signal on wake from sleep

I have recently updated my system with a U2715H (display 1) and a U3415W (display 2). To reduce the cable chaos, I have daisy chained them on Displayport 1.2a.

Using OSD, I changed the U2715H to DP1.2, so it could send the signal through.

Once this was done, I got an extended desktop onto the U3415W. This is easily within the capabilities of my new graphics card, and the DP1.2 spec. Shutting down and rebooting, the set-up continued to work properly. One extended desktop as desired.

However, when I put the machine to sleep, and then wake it from sleep, there is no picture on the U3415W. It is recognised by the OS (Win 10) as it revives, and even afterwards Windows knows it is there; it is present in Display Settings. However, the U2715H is not passing the signal through to it.

Doing a full reboot bring it back. However, this defeat the purpose of Sleep mode.

How do I get the U2715H to pass through the MST signal when Windows wakes from sleep, without having to mess with the OSD every time?


U2413 Terrible Calibration Result

Hello All,


I recently got my x-rite i1Display Pro and calibrated my U2413, but the result was terrible for adobeRGB calibration. My calibration for "native" (used EDID generated from dispcalGUI) and sRGB turned out fine.

Here's what I did:

1. Factory reset monitor

2. Disassociated all ICC profiles in Windows (I run Windows 7)

3. Calibrated with DCCS 1.5.3 (newer version couldn't "find" my display)

a. For "native", I manually entered RGB x,y taken from EDID generated with dispcalGUI; WP 0.313, 0.329; 120 cd/m; Bradford, Version 2, Table based; Large patch set

b. For adobeRGB and sRGB, I simply selected the respective preset from drop down menu; and the rest was same as "native" calibration

4. Verified results with dispcalGUI 3.0.4.2 (latest version)

a. RG_Phosphor for correction; verify_extended.ti1 testchart

d. I made sure the ICC profile was set as default in Windows; "Current" was chosen under Settings in dispcalGUI

I've done calibrations and verification multiple times for all 3 RGB primaries and results are still the same: terrible for adobeRGB.

Am I missing something or doing anything wrong?

Also, another question, how do I check my calibrated gamut coverage with dispcalGUI?

Dell UltraSharp U3415 has vertical lines across the entire screen

Installed Monitor to Computer on September 11 2015.  I hooked it up to my computer via DP to DP and after 45 minutes the screen was covered with white and green vertical lines.  I switched out the cable to the HDMI to HDMI with same result.  Attached to another older Alienware Aurora R4 with a AMD Radeon HD 7800  with same result.  Is this defective or is it settings?

Performed Hard Reset

Reviewed the manual

Restored to Factory Settings and Reset All Settings

Computer:  Alienware Area51 R2

OS:  Windows 8.1

Video Cards: 2 GeForce GTX 970

Video Driver Version 9.18.13.5306 05/27/2015

Available ports:  DP, HDMI, DP, DP  supports DP 1.2 and HDMI 2.0

DP to DP and HDMI to HDMI

Power Plan:  Balanced

Resolution: 3440 x 1440  60 hz

Just got a new P2715Q monitor.  Could not get it to work using DP and mDP cables.  Now works with both DP and HDMI cables connected (won't get signal otherwise).  Max resolution is only 2048 X 1152.  How do I get it to display at 3840 X 2160 ?? I would have gotten a cheaper monitor for less resolution if this is the best I can get.  My XPS monitor displays at 3200 X 1800.

Power button constantly flashing on/off!

Very sorry, but I don't know the model of my monitor.

For the past few months my Dell monitor's power button has been blinking between green and yellow while making a clicking sound. Thanks to anybody who helps.

I have been having this problems for a few weeks now where this will occasionally happen when I'm playing some games such as CS:GO, I have a Gaming pc and have had the monitor for over a year but the problem only started happening recently. I have a Nvidia EVGA GTX 970 video card that I have had for 3 months now as well. I would love to hear if anyone has any potential fixes for this problem as I have attempted to look up things and have come up short. This problem has caused me to become banned from multiple games for hours because of me having to disconnect from the match to restart my pc because the monitor would just flash. Thanks!

Hi, I have had a P2415Q (purchased from amazon, Rev A01) with a brand new computer, windows 10 and skylake, integrated gpu (mDP to DP), without any serious problems until this morning.

Yesterday I updated the monitor driver from the last one of dell.com. I cannot say I didn't do it before, but just in case I downloaded it and installed it.

This morning the display was off when I turned on the computer. I can connect it through teamviewer, but the display is like if it was not connected. I have uninstalled and installed again the driver through the device manager, and it does say there is a P2415(DP/mDP) there. But the Dell Display Manager says nothing is connected (see attached figures).

Before that, I only had sometimes a problem of the display not being awake at the beginning, which I solved by turning off and on the monitor. It didn't happen all the times though.

I also did have problems with the resolution when I connected to it through TeamViewer and the monitor was off. The generic driver apparently took control and changed the resolution, so that when I went back to the computer all the windows were disordered. This is however hardly related to this problem I suppose.

U2715H stuck pixel

Hello!

I have a problem with my new monitor U2715H. Today I noticed stuck pixel in the middle of the screen. I can't take a photo (i have mobile only and it can not catch a pixel). I see white (or green) pixel on black background and red pixel on white background. Can I exchange monitor? Maybe I have two pixels togethere (bright and black), but its very small.

Upgraded to Windows 10 from 8 - Monitor Using HDMI No Longer Using Full Screen

After I updated my computer to Windows 10, whatever monitor is attached to the HDMI port no longer takes up the full screen, even though it is correct in the screen resolution settings. The VGA connected monitor works just fine. Both worked properly prior to the windows 10 upgrade.

U2414H Dual Monitor DisplayPort Daisy Chain Issues

I have been searching the forums here, on MS, and elsewhere and it seems like a lot of people are having the same issue I am with daisy chained U2414H monitors. I didn't have the issue frequently until updating to Windows10. Now, when my monitors wake, usually the second monitor in the chain (last) either will not recognize a signal, or when it does it shows up only as a generic monitor with 640x480 resolution. Display settings and AMD Catalyst don't allow for any adjustment in the second monitor resolution or even drivers.

Setup is a Dell Core i7 XPS tower with AMD Radeon HD7700 graphics card, (2) Dell U2414H monitors, daisy chained with included DisplayPort cables.

I have tried modifying settings on each monitor to no avail. I have also tried switching monitors, and the second monitor (last) in the chain is always the fail point. I reinstalled the Dell driver (1.0.0) which also didn't work. I have also tried the power unplug method, and restarting my system in each configuration of monitor on/off. The issue seemed sporadic before, but in the last 2 days, now the second monitor will not be recognized beyond "Generic."

Please help!

S2340Mc Dual Monitor Set Left and Right side color issues and Warranty Claim

I purchased two S2340M monitors from Best Buy about two years ago.  About a year after purchase I noticed the right side of one of my monitors started to display "off" color from the rest of the screen.  It really wasn't a big deal at the time since it was my secondary monitor and my eye was not drawn to that corner very often.  Well...yesterday the primary monitor started to display the same issue except from the left side. 

I've reset all defaults and ran the Self-Test and the Built-in Diagnostics and the problem still persists. Switching to another brand monitor in both primary and secondary positions does not produce any issues...so I'd assume I can rule out any computer/video card problems.

My question centers around starting a Warranty claim on these two monitors.  I've read the thread on monitor warranties and replacement instructions...but I am sort of confused how to start the process...particularly when I would have to " Tell them to open the Dell internal only Oracle Knowledge Information center". 

Is there a more direct way to start a claim?

Weird dark vertical lines on U2715H?

Hello,

I ordered a U2715h and my monitor have a bunch of weird dark vertical line across 15% or so of the screen.

I uploaded a few pictures to imgur please on the link directly to see the full size of the the images its difficult to see with resized images.

Its near the center of the monitor and it doesn't appear to be a backlight issue (after setting it to 0).

Its also quite easy to see with my eyes but harder to capture on my digital camera. 

I can also see it with gray and white colors which are quite common when you are editing documents or browsing the web...

I can also see it when I'm watching movies but its easier to see with solid colors. 

The monitor is brand new and replacing a defective display that I had to return a few days ago so I'm quite annoyed...

I cleaned the monitor using a microfiber cloth before taking the pictures.

I am thinking to get P2415Q. And I will use it with Windows 10 and also OS X.

Is the Sleep problem fixed? 

Shall I get A03 to get ridge of this problem? If so, how can I order A03 in Hong Kong from Dell?

And can I connect two computers to it at the same time via DisplayPort?

S2715H standard keeps appearing

Every now and then the word "STANDARD" in red keeps appearing in the upper left of the screen.  Does anyone know what this means?

SP3, Dock, Dual U2415, not yet in daisy chain from dock (but via the SP3 itself)

Previous response from Chris:

Microsoft is aware of the issue with their dock (Docking Station not enough DP power to allow for daisy chaining two U2415 Monitors) .

They are developing a special connector dongle for the dock which works with the Link Training process to boost the signal strength negotiated with the external monitors.

As to when this will be available, some time in September.

Note, the dongle will not be available from stores.

You must open a case with Microsoft and show them that the issue occurs when connecting directly to the dock mDP.

They will then send you the dongle.

Black Screen Blues!!!

I have a Dell 2209WAF Monitor and in the past week the screen has gone black and I don't know what to do. I get about 2 seconds where the screen turns on and I can click on a program or try fixing it through the control panel, but that is only after I turn the monitor off and on (or restart my computer). I've tried everything, from adjusting my resolution to updating my hardware driver. Nothing has worked so far. If you have any ideas for a possible solution I would be very grateful...

I had my monitor connected to my surface pro 3 and I wanted to plug my phone in so I connected the usb hub on the right side of the monitor and nothing happened I am led to assume I need to set something up but, i'm not sure what.

Hello to all the forum... 

I just bought the U2713H monitor and I have a question ( It is my first ''expensice'' monitor bare in mind). When I select the sRGB preset of the screen, the whites become sort of blue. Is this normal?  Does this happen to all the U2713H screens? and if yes why does it happen and how can I change it?

Faulty Dell U2414H DisplayPort output

* What cable are you using to attach the video card to the monitor? Supplied mDP <-> DP cable in box.


I purchased this monitor just yesterday and the DisplayPort connection does not work. This is my second U2414H A03 so I'm well aware of the DisplayPort problems on this particular model and I guess I was unlucky and got a faulty one.

-Swapped the supplied mDP cable between my two monitors, my older U2414H A03 purchased back from March and the newly purchased U2414H A03. Older U2414H works perfectly with both cables, different output ports on my graphics card.

-Tried booting my computer with only the faulty U2414H connected through mDP to the first DP port on my graphics card, no signal going through. Tried different ports to no avail. Plugged back in the older working U2414H on the same cables and works perfectly.

-Tried MST from my working U2414H (DP 1.2 disabled) which does not work either

-HDMI works perfectly

-Settings are mirrored across my working and faulty monitor. Working monitor works w/ and w/o Displayport 1.2 enabled.

>Concluded that GPU is operating as normal, monitor works except for DP connectivity.

So I'm going to be polite and straightforward about this; is there any way to get a replacement? Retailer will not replace an otherwise working monitor that only has a busted DP controller. I've had a faulty Inspiron 11 which had a broken touchpad ribbon since purchase and my local Dell support service was kind enough to have that fixed on-site next day, so may I ask what are my options for this faulty monitor? I do not want to keep using this monitor on HDMI since that is not my intention, thanks! 

U2413 Trouble Calibrating

I purchased my U2413 a year ago but only recently managed to buy the X-Rite i1 Display Pro. I tried to get it to work but when I get to the "Measurement" page, it comes up with "Failed to connect. No matching displays found. Please verify that the display is connected to the computer with a USB cable."

 It recognised the monitor on the previous page and the monitor is connected with the standard display port and also the USB. I have tried to connect the X-Rite through the monitor's USB ports and also the ports on the PC itself but I can't seem to get it to read correctly. Everytime I "Retry" it says "Failed to establish a connection. Please make sure the USB cable is connected and try again."

Sorry if this is a dumb problem and I am doing something wrong but I have never calibrated a monitor before and do not know what to do. I also tried following the instructions on this website but had no luck either.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
