P2715Q 60hz issue on all resolutions and multiple laptops

Hello,

I have a huge problem with my Dell P2715Q. Recently I bought MacBook Pro 15" Late 2016 but I can't get more than 30Hz on my monitor no matter what resolution I am using (MST is OFF).

So far I have tried many solutions:

  • Using original Apple USB-C to HDMI
  • Using Kensington Dock HDMI - HDMI
  • Using Kensington Dock DP - DP
  • Using Kensington Dock DP - mDP

All of my cables are with excellent quality but on all these cases I am getting 30Hz and I am loosing my mind because my mouse lags sooo much that I can't work at all on it.

Beside trying all this over my MacBook 2016, I also tried on older MacBook mid 2014. I must also note that on other Dell monitor which doesn't support 4k I am getting normal 60hz refresh rate and everything is working flawlessly ... 

Please help - should I return the monitor or there is a solution after all because I spent whole day today in finding the solution online ...

DDM on Virtual Desktop?

We have been using DDM locally with our U3415W monitors (3 of them in our office currently) and it has become critical to efficient workflow.  However, we have just moved to a cloud server with remote virtual desktop access.  It appears DDM does not work in a virtual desktop environment although I can't find much information on this.

Can someone confirm whether DDM on a virtual desktop will work or not?  If not, when will it become supported?  Hoping I don't have to dish out even more money for Virtual Display Manager or a similar program on top of the $1,000+/monitor already paid.  Especially with a company like Dell that does business in the server space.

Please advise as to my options so my staff and I can get back to working efficiently with a terminal version of DDM or a competitors display manager.

Dual screen setup using P2715Q + 2209WAf?

Hi,

I have a Geforce GTX 670 Graphic card, 16GB RAM.

I'm trying to run a dual screep setup using the P2715Q by mDP/DP and the 2209WAf by DVI.
It won't work.
I've been scratching my head off for a week now.

Connecting the P2715Q by HDMI (and the 2209WAf still by DVI) seems to work, but it's not optimal. The color/contrast quality seems to be reduced on the P2715Q. Headaches are also inevitable.

Is there a way to make this setup work? Or is it a graphic card issue? On Nvidias website it says the GTX 670 supports 4K, but I'm currently not sure if it's able to handle an additional monitor. Haven't figured it out yet. Will some type of adapter help me?

(PS. I'm contemplating replacing the P2715Q with the UP2516, as I'm not so satisifed with how Windows and Adobe handles 4K resolutions. Hoping a QHD will be better. But will I run into the same setup problems as I have now? Is there a way to figure out this?)

* What video out ports are on the video card/GPU or computer? 2xDVI, 1xHDMI, 1xDP
* List all monitor cabling attached to the computer and the ports they are using 1xHDMI, 1xDVI
* What Windows power plan? High performance
* Press the monitor Menu button to open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display). The bottom of that screen should show a resolution. What is listed? 3840x2160
* Was the monitor purchased directly from Dell or some reseller? Reseller

Service tag not working on monitor

Hi,

I bought a second hand monitor, Dell 3415w and I've discovered a panel fault - Dirty Screen Affect. The dimness/lack of brightness uniformity in the screen is very noticeable on lower brightness which is how I like to use the monitor. 

I purchased this and the seller told me he had confirmed that a year of warranty remains on the monitor, but I went to search the service tag and it is not returning any results.

Can an employee message me and I can provide the monitor information to progress organising a replacement.

U2715M, fringe when turned on

Yesterday I've bought a Dell UltraSharp U2715H monitor from a reseller. After turning it on, when it showed a blank white screen,  it appeared to have strange roundings in a corner. I've thought it's some kind of decoration, but after showing image from the computer, the fringe was still there, even moving a bit towards the center. After few minutes it disappeard. I've thought it was related to display warming or something, but it reappeared after turning it on this morning.

After few minutes or so it went away, but I don't think it's normal that I don't have a fully working display instantly, when I need it. What can it be related to? Can it be fixed by software, or would it be better to return the display to the store?

I've tested it with Win10 PC using GTX 970 connecting by miniDP, and with Macbook on HDMI. I've checked that it's also showing when cables are disconnected on self-test.

Side question: using service tag I've checked that it was bought from dell ~6 months ago. Is the 3-year warranty counting from that moment, or from yesterday, when I've bought it from the reseller?

P2415Q monitor and Macbook Pro

I have seen some very old posts about issues with MBP resolution. I am staggered that Dell only have Windows support.  There should be a pre-purchase warning. With MBP touchbar (late 2016) I get 1692 x 3008 both with direct usb-c to displayport, and Apple multiport adapter to hdmi.  HDMI gives a far better image. Monitor shows 'Resolution: 2160p' with hdmi.

Good resolution, but I feel I have been conned by Dell.

UP2715K Thin Red Band

Hi there. I purchased the above monitor new in 2015. After about three months I started to get a thin red vertical band running from top to bottom of the screen. I tried factory reset and powering off. It sometimes goes away and then returns.

I can undertake a LCD Conditioning and sometimes this removes it as well. It always returns after a while.

It is now here on the screen all the time.

Running a late 2013 Mac Pro (cylinder) and using two cables for 5K. I have tried a single cable for 4K and it is still there. I also have a Dell U2515H connected.

Any help, suggestions what could be causing this, as it is now really annoying for the type of work I do.

Monitor E207WFP

The color on my monitor is distorted  - - first there was too much blue and green, now there is too much red.  I've tried to adjust the color settings, and nothing seems to work, including shutting everything down and then turning it back on.  The monitor is probably 6 - 7 years old.  Anything I can try before buying a new monitor?

daisy chain p2715q and u2713hm monitors

I have the dell p2715q monitor and it has a displayport OUT 

My desktop is dell xps 6187q3k

is it possible to plug a displayport cable in there and then connect it to the displayport IN of my u2713hm monitor ?

I tried it and the screen of the u2713hm monitor is all pink and unusable.

How can I connect both of these monitors to my so that they both display at max resolutions.

Now I have to settle connecting the u2713hm with HDMI but I am only getting 1900 x 1200 resolution on it.

Would a display port splitter solve my problem?

E207WFPc, 2nd Display to Inspiron 15

Hi, I'm trying to connect my old Dell E207WFP Monitor to my new Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop.  The monitor has VGA and DVI outputs.  I got a DVI to HDMI cable and plugged it in to the laptop.

As soon as I plug it in, the monitor goes from "Auto Detect Self Test Feature Check" to "Auto Detect Entering Power Save" and then just goes blank.

I've messed around with changing the resolution on the laptop to one that matches the monitor but that didn't work.

I also downloaded the driver for the monitor but I can't figure out if I need to (or how to) actually install it in Windows 10.

Any suggestions?  Thanks!

U2715H, XPS 8910, Setup help

Just purchased these two separately and the screen lead supplied was a what I think is a mini DP to DP?

The only connections on the screen are either DP or Mini DP as far as I can see for connecting the two?

The XPS 8910 desktop has what I think is a DP socket on the mother board but obviously as an XPS it has a fairly good installed NVidia graphics card which the output is via a DVI socket.

I cannot get the screen to switch on at all and have had to connect up an older dell screen with DVI to DVI instead for now. I just get the notice on the screen that there is no DP cable connected even when plugging into the DP socket on the rear of the desktop.

Which is the best way to connect this? can I use a DVI to HDMI or DVI to mini DP as I will need to order the required lead / adapter. Obviously I do not want to lose any quality if poss.

S2417DG, won't show screen can't factory reset

My monitor is hooked through a display port when turned on my computer see's that there's a monitor but nothing happens and it's grayed out in the nvidia control panel. When I tried to factory reset the monitor the only option that comes up is input source, meaning I can't even get to the factory reset option, tried hard reset and nothing.

P2715Q (4K) LCD Making Ticking Noise

Hello,

My Dell P2715Q makes a consistent "clicking"/"ticking" sound when it's not connected to a computer that's powered on. Meaning, if the monitor is on and the computer is on, there's no ticking sound.  However, if the monitor is on OR off but the computer is OFF, there IS a ticking sound.

I'm concerned that this is indicative of some problem that will eventually result in a non-functioning $500 monitor.

Anyone else experience this? Dell, help!?

U2415: External HD not detected.

I have tried connecting various external hard drives to the 5 availalbe USB ports on the back of the monitor but none of them shows up on the computer. The power indicator on the hard drives remain on though.

Dell UP2716D calibration - RGB values are off the center level

Hi,
I have a Dell UP2716D and the i1Display Pro calibrator. I cannot figure out the following:

1) If i calibrate in "STANDARD" preset mode then my calibration will be too yellow, during calibration i can see that the R & B values are a bit off the center. I cannot adjust them in "STANDARD" mode. Can the software account for this during calibration? Or do the RGB values need to be dead center?



2) If i calibrate in "CUSTOM COLOR" mode i can set the R, G & B values to the required center position. BUT this mode will disable "Uniformity compensation" so this is not acceptable.

How do i need to calibrate this monitor?

Dell U2412M - HDMI to DVI Cable Question

I know there have been several posts related to this, but after reading all of them I'm even more confused. :(

I have a Dell U2412M and I would like to plug it to my Laptop Acer V3-571G who has a VGA and a HDMI connection.

I know that I need a HDMI to DVI cable and I'd like to enjoy a full 1920x1200 resolution, but I still don't know if I need:

HDMI to DVI-D Single Link 

or

HDMI to DVI-D Dual Link

Which of them will work and which will work better?
