Turning off U2711 Auto Align

Hi all,

Thanks for offering to supply assistance.

I have a U2711 with which I use inputs from VGA and both DVI inputs. The VGA input is wired to our home camera surveillance system and not the PC. The DVI inputs are connected to the PC's NVIDIA 760 graphics card.

All was fine until a month or two ago when I was looking through my monitor menu and noticed a setting called auto align, I hit that while in VGA (attached directly to the home camera surveillance system ) mode and the scree auto aligned itself so that 30% of the image is now off screen to the right and on the left there is 30% of no data projected, it's just black. This is causing problems when we want to view whats happening outside as two to the cameras can barely be seen on the display anymore and the home camera surveillance system menus are partially cut away. I've tried changing the monitor display setting to 1:1 or Aspect however it still auto aligns to the right, losing projected data.

Is there a way to turn auto align off?


* What specific computer model? i7, rest is unrelated
* What operating system? Windows 10
* What video card? NVIDIA 760 graphics card

* Video card driver version? latest
* What video out ports are available on the video card? 2x DVI, 1x display port, 1x HDMi
* What video out port are you using from the video card to what video in port on the monitor? 2x DVI to monitor, 1x VGA from home surveillance system 
* What cable are you using to attach the video card to the monitor? DVI cables, VGA cable which is ethernet cable with VGA adapter
* What windows power plan? Example = High performance, PCI-e Link State Off: Samsung High Performance 
* Press the monitor Menu button to open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display). The bottom of that screen should show a resolution. What is listed? in DVI mode, 2560x144@60Hz, in VGA 1280x1024@60Hz
* Was the monitor purchased from Dell or some reseller? Dell I think. It's been a while.

ST2220L, no Windows 10 compatibility driver

I tried to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10, and I got the message that "Windows 10 will not run on this PC: The display is not compatible with Windows 10."  The Dell support page for that monitor seems to agree that W10 is not supported.  Will it work as a generic PnP, or do I need a new monitor?

I broke the IPS panel of my Dell U2515H , is it possible at all to get the lcd panel replaced. I know the warranty does not cover for that.

U2417H TO xps 8900 with 745gforce video card

just got U2417H monitor and XPS 8900 with 745 gforce video.  Two cables came with monitor, only one will connect.  There is a C2G high speed 2m HDMI with Ethernet cable - HDMI cable that is part of this order as a separate piece that I haven't received yet.  I'm thinking its best to wait to perform initial system start-up until the C2G cable arrives and is installed. 

Is that the only cable of the three that should be used to connect the two?

Dear all ....

This question has probably been posted many times .... but just so I give all the correct information then I thought I would post new

I have a new Precision 7710

Xeon E3-1535M Processor

17.3" Ultra Sharp UHD IGZO ( 3840 x 2160 ) screen

64GB Ram

Nvidia Quadro M4000M Graphics card

Currently i run the laptop with an additional 4K monitor ( Dell 2415Q )

I would like to add another monitor, but from what I have read, i cannot run another 4K monitor on this system ?

I would like recommendations of best option to run the 3 screens ( laptop + 2 external )

I work on CAD, Photoshop and Illustrator mostly ..

My dell UP2716D Monitor firmware version is M3T103

 I run Monitor Firmware Update Utility to upgrade firmware. But I didn't note current firmware version is M3T103 and I downgrade to M3T102.

I can't find M3T103 in official website.

P231Ht monitor goes into power saving mode upon start up

I recently purchased this monitor from an online action site (allbids.com). All items bought from this website  (unless specified) are 100% working and tested. Anyway i brough it home and ser it up with my new pc and as i turned it on it said "entering power saving mode" and then turns off. I did a bit of research and found nothing.

P4317Q and DDM

So i purchased P4317Q, for long time i wanted 4K monitor without scaling and this is one. I'm still using U2713HM on other PC, and i didn't need DDM until now (2k is still ok for 2 windows). Now i setup easy arrange (3 vertical windows) and have some issues.

  1. I can rearrange windows without resize (it's ok for my main windows, but some others like audio player is retarded 1/3 screen)
  2. Some windows don't remember position, like windows explorer (always offsets of grid by DDM)
  3. Chrome goes into middle after i alt-tab from full screen app (and this drives me crazy)

Do i need look for external solution or DDM works fine for you?

We have several Dell Monitors E 173FPb in our business that are not compatible with Windows 10 upgrade.  We need driver update/upgrades or other solutions to achieve compatibility as soon as possible - of course!

No OSD or video for Dell U2417HA Monitor

I can no longer bring up the on screen display for this monitor or receive any video input either from mDP or HDMI inputs.  I have removed all cables and replaced them and restarted the computer all with no success.  It is a multiple monitor system, and when I turn the monitor on with the mDP connected it comes up in the system (Windows 10) saying that it is working fine.

Is there any way to 'hard reset' the monitor, or will I need to replace it?

Dell monitor without service tag

Hi, I purchased Dell S2340L monitor  a year back and now is not working properly. I get Pink and Green lines at the right side of the monitor.  I tried to contact dell support but I am unable to do so without service tag. But this monitor doesn't have Servicetag or Express code on it. How do I contact support. I also need to know the warranty details of this monitor. Without service tag I am unable to find it. It has only the serial number printed on it.

Quality Control Issues with UP2715K

The Dell UP2715k is a gorgeous monitor... IF you can find one that's defect free. I've now bought and returned 6 of them. On the last trip I bought 3 at once and the very last one I tested worked well, which was lucky because I was about to switch to ASUS. From severe light leaks to one model with dead pixels, it's clear that no one's checking these monitors before they go out.

Even the one I settled on has a piece of dirt or something wedged between the glass and the panel (or maybe it's a dim pixel. Hard to tell). It's not noticeable enough to catch a client's eye, but it still bugs me knowing that it's there

This is nowhere near the fanciest monitor on my color grading/editing setup, but still an unacceptable level of quality control for a monitor that was released only last year at $2,500

My monitor's power light will not go off when I power my PC down. What do I need to do SPECIFICALLY? I have a Windows 10 machine but I can't find the particulars on controlling the monitor light.

U2713HM Calibration

Our studio artist setup is using the Dell U2713HM monitors. I am in the process of purchasing the xRitei1 Display Pro. I want to be sure of the suggested calibration solution for these monitors. I have the Dell UltraSharp Color Calibration Solution 1.0.0 software installed.

Question are:

  • Is this the suggested pairing between probe and software or does Dell have an updated version of this calibration software?
  • Should I use the xRite calibration software vs Dell? Thoughts or preferences on this?

P2314T touch screen

I had a Planar PXL2430MV connected to a dell power edge 2900 running windows 2003 and the touch screen work fine but lighting hit the Planar and fried a board inside so it no longer works.  Bought a new Dell P2314T touch screen and I get good video but the  touch screen wont work.  I have a cd with new drivers on it but have not loaded it yet not quite knowing what would happen.  I talk to a person at dell for an 1 hour and he was still not sure if I would cause a problem with the server or not. 

Any ideas any one..??

Monitor driver

I recently got a new HP ink jet printer to use with my Lenovo computer and Dell monitor. When the installation software for the printer started, the monitor display went awry. The screen background is now gray-green, and there is no red. I can press the Menu button on the Dell monitor (1707FP) and the Dell menu is full color, but the background is not. I went into Windows 7 and found that the monitor driver was now listed as a generic non-pnp monitor. I chose to update this driver, and now the monitor driver says Dell 1707FP(Analog). It's a flat screen monitor, though not a new model. I don't think it should be using an analog driver. The device driver panel reports that the most up-to-date driver is already installed. But I think it's not the correct driver.

U2414H Incompatible with Windows 10

Have upgraded two of the three PC's in my house from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  The third one, mine, the major one (!), runs dual U2414H monitors and the Windows 10 upgrade compatibility check that runs at the start of the upgrade process reports that these monitors are incompatible with Windows 10.

I've searched for more information on this and have found a few posts of people having issues with this model monitor and Windows 10 but moreso after-the-fact - that is, they have installed Windows 10 and are sorting out how to get the monitor(s) working.  I couldn't find anyone commenting specifically on the upgrade compatibility check and the report of incompatibility.

I am using an Nvidia GEforce 9800 graphics card which Nvidia reports as being compatible with Windows 10.

What goes here?  Driver issue I am sure.  But why ditch support for this model of Dell monitor?

Can anyone shed any light on this or offer advice.
