Problem: Max screen resolution of 1920 x 1080
Laptop: Dell Precision 6800
Graphics Card: Nvidia Quadro K4100M
Dual-Monitors: 2x Dell U2713HM
Laptop is connected to a Dell docking station that has 2 single link DVI outputs as well as 2 display port outputs. This is more than the laptop has by itself. It has 2 HDMI and one VGA output. The graphics card is pretty high end and should be more than capable of displaying screen resolutions in excess of 1920x1080. I could have gotten these resolutions out of a $200 LCD Tv. These are $700 monitors! I have read some solutions saying that you need to use a double link DVI to achieve higher resolutions, but the monitors didn't come with these cables. And my docking station nor the laptop has ports for these either.
Could I use a display port to double link dvi adaptor with double link dvi cables? Would this configuration work? How about simply using display port cables?
How can i get resolutions of 2560x1440 out of these monitors using my set-up? My company invested a lot of money in a all Dell set-up for me and it's not performing optimally and I need to get it corrected.
Thanks in advance!
