I specifically asked for 2 HDMI monitors for the 2 Inspiron 3847's I ordered as Christmas presents, but they sent me DP instead. I have been on this phone for 4 hours this morning. An exchange is not an option due to it being 2 different items. If I go through the return process, I am looking at 2-3 weeks if I want to use my Dell Preferred account.
Here is the question, does the adapter work and give the same quality as HDMI? If so, which adapter do I order? The rep was going to send me VGA cables and an adapter as a courtesy but then realized it was too expensive. I guess I will buy the darn adapters for their mistake. This is ridiculous customer service. When I told him maybe better to return my entire $2000 order and get it from somewhere else, he said he would be happy to process this return. Huh? Why would they send me DP monitors when I have no DP port. Nevermind that these monitors don't even come with VGA cables. Not that I want VGA but at this point these things are both useless to me. Sooo frustrated right now, ugh! My daughter's 21st birthday was Friday and I went ahead a gave her the desktop..it is useless. Someone please tell me the best way to go here. If HDMI is the better option, I will likely just return everything and do something different. If the adapter can work then I guess no choice but to go that route, but at this point..I don't know what to do.
