Hi,
As many of you I have installed Windows 10 on my Alienware X51 with a touchscreen monitor (S2340T). Due to some apparents bugs with the start menu, search, edge and the notification center that couldn't be opened, I reverted back to Windows 8.1. After some searches the monitor was listed as a potential source of conflicts. I reinstalled Windows 10 while connected to an old analog monitor, and the installation went smoothly and all functions were working properly.
I then decided to connect my S2340T, as I was hoping I had passed the initial hurdles, but no. The start menu and other Windows 10 functions cannot be opened anymore.
This monitor is apparently not Windows 10 compatible. However I thought W8.1 drivers should work in W10, no? Before moving to W10, I had installed the latest monitor drivers as well as the latest DisplayLink drivers (I was using the touch option).
Is there a chance that my monitor will ever work in W10? If yes, what is the solution to this problem?
Thanks a lot in advance for any help and advices you may provide!
- Greg
