U2715H, No signal on Zotac GeForce GT 640

Hi everybody,

I got a U2715H a few weeks ago, but I cannot make it work when connected to my Zotac GeForce GT 640 graphics card over HDMI  / DVI. When connected to either one of the DVI ports or the Mini-HDMI port of the graphics card, I only see this message on the screen:

"The current input timing is not supported by the monitor display. Please change your input timing to 2560x1440@60hz or any other monitor listed timing as per the monitor specifications."

After trying different cables without success, I removed this graphics cards from my PC. The PC has an Asus mainboard with an onboard Radeon HD 7000. With this onboard card it is working fine, when I connect the DVI-port of the board with HDMI input of the monitor. I get the maximum resolution of 2560x1440@60Hz. But the performance of the onboard card is bad, so I would prefer to use the Zotac card.

Just to be sure that the monitor is ok, I also tried other connections: My BananaPi works fine when connected from HDMI to HDMI (resolution of 1920x1080@60Hz). My Lenovo notebook also works from HDMI to HDMI (2048x1152@60Hz).

To be sure that the graphics card is working, I connected the two monitors that I used before (Dell and HP, DVI to DVI), both were working fine from the moment on I start the computer. This is an important "feature", it must work even before the operation systems comes up, so that I can access the BIOS if necessary.

I already contacted the support from Zotac, because I guess it is a problem with the graphics card. According to technical specs it has Dual-Link DVI and miniHDMI 1.4a. Both should be able to display the highest resolution, but I just get the error message stated above. Zotac support told me, the graphics card cannot be the problem and it can easily solved by changing the monitor settings. But I cannot find any information what I could change to solve the problem.

Any ideas what I could do? Thanks!

Best regard,

Bruce
