The U345W supports PBP/PIP mode, which allows me to display a picture from a second source while viewing the main monitor screen as well. For my setup, I use the PIP as an HDMI input for TV so that I can watch TV while working in the main window.
The setting for the monitor allow me to select a sound source between the main window and the PBP/PIP window, which goes by "sub" in the menu. The setting is located at Menu>Audio>Audio Source>(Main or Sub). So after activating the PBP/PIP, I am able to set the audio to "sub", which allows me to hear TV while working.
As such, when I have the PBP/PIP on, the sound source is from the HDMI/Sub source as expected. When I turn the PBP/PIP window off, the sound reverts to the main window, which is also a nice behavior. However, the issue is that when I turn the PBP/PIP back on, the sound does not come back on for the "sub", rather, it sticks with the "main." This is very frustrating because in order to re-enable sound on the "sub"--which I had already done--I am stuck going deep into the menu again. So, the monitor is smart enough to switch the audio from sub->main when PBP/PIP is turned off, but not smart enough to switch from main->sub when PBP/PIP is turned back on (where that has previously been selected as the sound source).
There should be a setting to default the sound to "sub" when PBP/PIP is turned on so it is more useful. The competing LG/Samsung monitors do this intelligently. Alternatively, though less useful, the ability to set one of the Shortcut Keys to this Audio Source would at least give me shortcuts to both the PBP/PIP mode and the Audio Source so that I do not have to crawl through the menu.
