Hello,
I recently purchased a Dell P2415Q UHD monitor to use as a second monitor at work.
I have a late 2013 model 27" iMac with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M graphics card running OS X 10.9.5 (13F34)
When I connect the monitor via Thunderbolt/mDP (on the iMac) to DP (on the Dell 2415Q), I am only able to drive the monitor at a resolution of 2560 x 1440.
I've tried using the 'best for display' option (which defaults to 2560 x 1440 - even though it is a UHD monitor capable of 3840 x 2160 resolution). When I use scaling, I can obtain slightly higher resolutions but I'm not sure I'm seeing the full 3840 capabilities of the monitor.
Apple claims that late 2103 model iMacs should be capable of driving 4k monitors: Using 4K displays and Ultra HD TVs with Mac computers - Apple Support
The predecessor to the Dell 2415 (the 2414) is even listed as a supported monitor.
Any suggestions?
Thx,
JP
