Hi forum
I am new here as i have been having issues with my new dell screen and 2011 macbook pro. The screen is, when working, absolutely amazing to edit on. My images look even better than reality.
The graphics card is a AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB.
I realise from looking at the posts here, that it is only the 2013 mbp onwards and mac pro that works well with this 4k screen, however for the last two months the setup has been working ok. It is only in the last two weeks that i started having issues of blank screens, horizontal and vertical lines and having to force power off and option pwr back on using the disc utility. Then the screen does not work etc etc...
Short of getting a new 2014 mbp or mac pro what other options do i have. I won't be going the pc route though.
Someone mentioned using an external graphics card between the mbp and the screen, would this work?
Anything else?
Also, i have been running it at 30hrz as this is the only option, I have not noticed any issues with the still photography that i shoot and edit. Does this only become a problem for gaming?
