Press the monitor button now to select the correct input source

The problem im facing now is when i press there monitor button, the selection menu is no longer popped up like last week when i chose to use VGA mode.
It just showed Arrow UP, Arrow Down, Tick, Cross, but no more menu displayed out for me to select.

I am quite frustrated with this, this monitor just arrived last week and been using for few days, now it is like useless monitor keeps on popping out the error message.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

Thanks in advance.

S2340MC only displaying random flashing colors

My S2340MC monitor does not seem to be working anymore. I've tried it with different VGA cables and different computers and it does not work, so it is definitely a monitor issue. I got it for Christmas last year and are wondering if I'd be able to get it replaced. It was bought from Best Buy, I still have the invoice from it, but it seems there was a misprint on the invoice as it says S2240M so I'm hoping this won't be an issue, but it is my invoice for this monitor. This isn't a tech issue I'm asking about a replacement.

U2414H Daisy Chain Configuration

I received my two new Dell UltraSharp 24" ( U2414H ) monitors today to be attached to my Microsoft Surface Pro 2 ( 512Gb / 8MB ) and docking station. I ordered these monitors because they are designed to use in a display port daisy chain arrangement. So I set them up as following, plugged micro-display port into the Surface Pro 2 dock then plugged the other end of the cable with the full sized display port into the display port ( IN ) port on monitor one ( 1 ) and then plugged another display port cable into monitor one ( 1 )  display port ( OUT ) then into monitor two ( 2 ) display port ( IN ). Both monitors display beautifully, but not as I was expecting.

I feel like I am missing something here but don't know where to start. I was expecting the display settings in control panel to show three ( 3 ) displays, the Surface Pro 2 display and the 2 Dell external displays. But what I am seeing is the Surface Pro 2 display and the 2 Dell U2414H monitors as a single display. What I wanted to do duplicate the start screen on the first Dell U241H monitor and then extend the desktop to the second Dell U2414H monitor. But I can not see how to make this all work. Has anyone daisy chained 2 external monitors like this and if so how did you get them setup correctly? Is there something that I need to set on the second monitor in the daisy chain to make Windows see it as a third display panel?

So can someone help me please...

Dell Product Return Authorisation

Hi there,

Yesterday I contacted Dell Australia about returning my monitor that I purchased because of financial reasons and everything seemed to go alright. The Dell rep told me that the return would have to get authorised, which is fine, and was told that I'd be contacted tomorrow about whether the return of my monitor has been authorised or not. My question is, how long does it take for Dell to authorise product returns?

Thanks in advance for any help.

P.S. Sorry for the bother.

Hello,

I own a U2913wm Rev A00 and I'd like to know what upgrades were done in Rev A01, A02, etc. Unfortunately, I could not find any Info about this in the Dell Website. Is it recommended to change A00 for newer revisions?

Thank you

Swapped out Power Board for HPM Plug Boss (PRCD), now LCD TV W2709 monitor dead.

Initially it came up, with a blank screen with the blue power lamp hard on, button could not be turned off. Tripped the power a few times, and the monitor was dead. Unplugged the power cable and bypassed the power board and same issue.

Cannot find the manuals for this monitor online, but think the fuse has blown. Does anyone know how to open up the monitor to see if the fuse has blown and replace it.

DELLs response, was there is no-one, and no redirect way to RTB and get the monitor services. Swap out and replace is their only suggestion / answer.

U2713h vs u2713hb

Hi,

I ordered an U2713h to Dell the last week, and today I received an U2713hb (made in China the November 2012, Rev A01 ).
Does somebody know what mean the "b" after the model name (U2713h) , it's like a new revision?
I will try this monitor this WE, hoping that is a revision without problems like USB3 or density and color shifts reads in some forum and dell forum (http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19489601.aspx)

U2913WM supplied Dual-Link cable not HDCP compatible?

$

Hi,

I have just upgraded from a BenQ 1920x1080 HDCP-compatible monitor to the Dell U2913WM monitor.  The specs tell me it is HDCP-compatible via the DVI-D port, but when using the supplied DVI-D Dual Link cable with my GTX 780 graphics card, the NVIDIA Control Panel tells me that "This display does not support HDCP."

I was using the GTX 780 with my old BenQ monitor (and a single-link DVI cable), so does this mean that the supplied cable is not HDCP-compatible?  The 780 also has a DVI-I port, so I have checked (and double-checked) that I am using the right one.

Please help!

Kind regards,

D33T33.

U2713HM buzzing sound when lots of text is displayed

Hello, I got this monitor through amazon in jan 2013.  There is this unbearable high pitched sound whenever lots of text is displayed on the screen e.g. wikipedia, email, word docs etc.  I have gone through other posts here on this issue and I can see other people having this issue too.  My monitor is Rev A00, by the way. I tried contacting technical support on phone but they told me that they have never heard of this kind of issue before, long story short talking to them wasn't a pleasant experience.  Will really appreciate if someone here can help me out.

Thanks

U2412M "b"

I have ordered a U2412M in december. It was ordered directly from dell. I have received the U2412Mb Rev 00. I have noticed online that there is a lot of talk about this "b" version and Rev 00. There is no definitive answer exactly what it means. I have seen Chris saying that b is the location, but I don't see how that has anything to do with it (b would be a version of some type if anything). It was also said that its best to buy it from dell directly. I did that. So what exactly is the status of these b and non b versions?

Whites do not match between monitor and apple computer

I'm having the same problem-- next to my iMac, the white looks sepia toned or light blue, but I can't seem to achieve a white without some tinge to it.  I'll try some of the above if I can figure them  out and report back.

U2713HM Image Retention/Flickering of Retained Image

Hi,

I bought a U2713HM in May from an online retailer (not direct from Dell) and have been fine up until recently, but last week I started noticing image retention after leaving it displaying a static image for about 8hours - after running the LCD conditioning program for about 20mins, the problem seemed to disappear.

However, a couple of days ago - I had image retention again, this time with flickering lines appearing after only an hour of showing a static image. Again, 20mins of LCD conditioning seems to have fixed this. Both occasions were from different devices on different inputs (DVI the first time, HDMI the second time). The problem seems to be getting worse.

I noticed that there are similar cases in the past that have been posted on this forum. It is very annoying having to correct with the LCD conditioning program after only a short time of use. I would like to know how I can take steps towards getting this replaced under warranty.

Thanks,
Lloyd

Update:
Could this be a known issue related to my revision number?  I am currently at work so I cannot check, I will update this post with my hardware revision when I'm home.

U2412M revisions

Hello Chris:
I have a similar question as the one posted here but mine is regarding the Panel Revision Numbers for this Monitor U2412M
I read the forums, some of your post and when I called DELL I was also told by the sale representative the advantages of buying directly from DELL instead of a third party seller, specially since I'm located at US.

From one of the post:
...
The product sits in their warehouses getting old. Before too long, they have older revisions A00 while we are shipping A03. (Just examples)
...

I asked the sales representative what panel I would received and he mentioned me that they do not have control over that (which is understandable) but that I will be receiving the latest panel since the old ones were not longer available.

A few days later I received my monitor and to my surprise the Revision Panel is A00 which is the first generation of this panel. I also noticed that the manufacture date of the monitor is November 2013 which does not correlate to the latest revision of the panel being used. My co-worker has the same monitor he purchased in 2012 and his monitor has Revision Number A02.

After receiving the monitors I called at your Sales representative, then I was transferred to Customer Care, then Technical Support and back to Sales representative and no one could tell me the latest revision panel for this monitor, a supervisor mentioned me that he sees different revision numbers but does not know which revision is the newer one or if there are manufacture dates associated with these revision numbers to know if there is a sequence on them (thinking in A00 will be first quarter of 2011, A01 second quarter of 2011 and so on)
They were able to specify the latest revision as A06 but for the DELL u2713hm monitor

As a side note I was looking to get a second monitor to have a dual setup but is there a way to ensure to get the same revision numbers (the latest one) of this monitor if I purchase them together?

I will appreciate if you can clarify the Panel Revision Number for this monitor U2412M and provide me with more details.
Thanks for your help and time

Sincerely

Paul

U2713H Overdrive/ghosting

I guess Dell engineers never browse any web pages. Otherwise how could they not find this serious issue? I didn't purchase my U2713H monitor. Dell sent it to me as a replacement for U2711. Right now I'm really <profanity> by this ghosting issue. If you have one of fast scrolling mouses (such as Logitech M705), this becomes painfully irritating. Even using keyboard keys to scroll up/down a page it's quite annoying.  Super Angry Any resolution for this issue?

U2713HM Black line problem

Hi,

For sometime, I thought it might be an hdmi problem, but I ran the selfdiag and got the same result.

I have a thin black line running from side to side in the most upper part of the monitor (Running at 1080P).

Nothing is cut-off, its just like the screen "starts" from that line. Its very thin, hair like, but noticeable.

Is that normal, and only I get annoyed by it, or is it ok & normal?

You can see it pretty good in this shot, especially where the flash reflects (did my best).

Thanks.

S2440L Problems

The problem in this monitor is that it shoots horizontal lines across the screen when connected via HDMI to HDMI. But when i use my HDMI cable via DVI to HDMI adapter, that problem is fixed. Is there really a point in having HDMI port in this monitor?
The bigger problem it has is that this monitor goes crazy and keep blinking on and of randomly, it will happen no matter what. This monitor just worked fine for a day and then problems came. So I call up Dell an get it replaced. After replacing the second monitor goes crazy as well.
So I spent a week figuring out if the problem was not with the monitor. For which I hooked up other monitors (dell dell se198wfp and benq gw2450) to my system and they worked fine. I hooked my monitor to other systems and the problems were still there. <profanity> I even packed my monitor and took it to a few of my friends place to check it and the problems were still there. I also called an electrician to check earthing problems. Earthing seems to be ok. I plugged the monitor in a UPS also a surge protector and also trip protection switch. It was all of no use. I checked cables. I checked my GFX card. Nothing but the monitor had issues.
After a week I call dell again. They say we will replace your monitor and they assure me that I wont face such issues again, ever. So the third monitor comes in. I hook it up and an hour later it went crazy like <profanity>. I called dell again they sent me 4th <profanity> monitor and the 4th goes crazy as well, seriously what the <profanity> ?

I have requested for a refund now. But this is so disappointing. This product has potential to be the perfect monitor. The colour quality is on par with IPS panels, the glossy screen makes is much better like apple's cinema display. The quality on this monitor is so awsome and the monitor does not work properly.  How can a company like DELL make a product like this? Was it even tested?
