I just bought 2 x U2913WM.
I must say that they are very good (I need a lot of screen space for my work and I used 3 monitors to cover what I need, the 2 ultra-wides are doing same job as 3 regular monitors for me).
I must say Dell did a very good job into jumping in this trend. I am almost happy.
There is one small issue however and I hope that Dell will fix it up soon (considering this is very new line of monitors and difficult to obtain stock in the UK - I waited 2 weeks to receive them).
The issue is in the usability. Obviously a normal person cannot use such a wide screen as a regular monitor (most of the time, for me this is 99% of the time) - when you need few windows at the same screen and you wouldnt bother trying to adjust sizes every time you pop a window up - to keep them not overlapping and nice and tidy..
Right.. Here goes the Dell Display Manager.. It does tremendous job in helping you to organise your desktop. You can pin your windows into smaller customisable virtual display spaces.. Which is what much needed!!
However there is one hiccup that I want Dell to resolve asap.. The problem is that every time you grab a window by the header - the Display Manager starts to work and there is no way to avoid it once the window is grabbed. As a result - you cannot move a window without it being pinned once you release it (maximised into nearest virtual display).
This is _very_ counter-productive because there are many small windows which must stay the size they are and if you want them to move they have to be moved with that size..
I would like someone from the Dell support to propagate my feedback to the development team as soon as possible. I am sure this can be very easily resolved (for example if you add a keyboard stokes into this picture you can simply have for example Ctrt + Window_Grab to mean - not to pin the window etc).
I use Windows 7 x64.
Thank you
