My situation is that I have just received a warranty replacement U2913WM from Dell (it is sitting right behind me), and I'm a bit dubious, since the replacement I got is a refurbished Rev. A01 monitor. The monitor on my desk is Rev. A03. I have searched around and I can't find any records of what exactly has been revised on this monitor, but I'm sure that revisions aren't done just for fun, so I would definitely like to know what I'm throwing away before I proceed!
The reason this replacement was sent to me was because my monitor was having problems with sleep or power save mode. When it was time to sleep, the monitor would not actually go into sleep mode, only show a black screen (black, but still on). When it came time to wake up, I could jiggle the mouse or hit keys all I wanted, the screen would just stay with its black image. The power button would show solid illumination throughout. The way I would resolve it is to use the power button to power it off, then power it back on.
To further complicate my choices, in the 5 days since I contacted Dell for a warranty replacement, this monitor has not had any problem going to sleep or waking up properly, so I'm wondering if it's fixed itself for good, or if it's just having a good week... In the week prior I would estimate it would have some sort of sleep malfunction about 50% of the time. It's like there's this little kid in the monitor who's scared to go back to the factory so is now trying its very best in a desperate plea for clemency! Why does this monitor have to make me feel so guilty?
Returning to the main point, though — can someone please tell me what the various revisions of this monitor address?
