Trying to install the monitor driver results in the error message "A service installation section in this INF is invalid". Peeling this back, this appears to refer to this line in the E2414H.INF driver file that comes with the monitor.
ServiceBinary = %12%\monitor.sys
This line appears to be looking in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS folder for a file called MONITOR.SYS. This file does not exist in my Windows XP Professional SP3 code.
How can I get this resolved?
- Get a corrected E2414H.INF file that refers to a valid ServiceBinary, or
- Get a MONITOR.SYS file installed in the right folder to make the error go away, or
- Another solution that will fix the problem.
In the meantime, I get this error message and I can't set my screen resolution properly.
Per the monitor documentation, Windows XP is supported for this monitor.
