UP2516D Uniformity...

I ordered the Dell UP2516D directly from dell.com on February 11th.

Upon receiving it, I immediately noticed a green/yellow discoloration on the left side the screen, and magenta/red discoloration on the right, noticeable on any lighter screen during web browsing, word processing, etc.

Of course, Standard mode's uniformity compensation greatly diminishes this, but since that mode's color gamut isn't usable 99% of the time when browsing the web, using applications or playing PC games, I've been relying on the sRGB mode.

All modes without Uniformity compensation have this discoloration, without exception.

My first unit had slight damage to the bezel, along with moderate BLB and the aforementioned discoloration, so I requested an exchange for an identical unit.

While the second one didn't have a damaged bezel, and the blb was acceptable, the uniformity was almost identical; green/yellow on the left side, and red/magenta on the right.

I realize that this specific model uses a GB-LED, which combines blue and green diodes with a red phosphor. If I didn't know any better, it looks as if the green diodes are on the left side of the screen, and the blue are on the right. I can't think of any other reason for this discoloration.

Below is an image of my second unit at default brightness and contrast settings in the sRGB preset on a full white screen:

Here's the same image with the color saturation at 100% to accentuate the uneven color temperature:

And finally, a direct comparison of the left and right sides of the screen:

My first unit was a November build, and my second is a December. I would consider requesting another exchange, but seeing as (devoid the damaged bezel on the first) the two units, a full month apart, were nearly identical in all respects, I find it unlikely I will get a unit of this model without the issue. It seems to be a design flaw.

Before I resort to returning it and trying a different model, do any of you (Dell forum reps) have an explanation for this issue, or at least advice on how to proceed?

Thanks.
