I have had both a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (Windows 8) and Surface Pro 4 (Windows 10) connected to a Dell U3014 through a Surface Pro 3 Dock using a Mini DP to DP cable. Periodically the screen will just go black for a few seconds and then return to normal. It happened a few times a day with the Surface Pro 3 and now happens dozens of times a day with the Surface Pro 4.
I originally thought it was the cable, but have replaced the cable.
I have updated all of the video drivers.
I have since found this happens almost exclusively when Microsoft Edge is running, and frequently when Facebook is on a tab in Edge. It is however not a problem with Edge on the Surface Pro's screen, just on the U3014.
