System and monitor are brand new. Everything was working fine for the first two weeks with my old Dell monitor connected with DVI at monitor and HDMI at motherboard, running at 1920x1080x60. After about 2 weeks, I bought the new Dell P2715Q monitor to get 3840x2160x60. Everything seemed fine at first. Then after a couple of weeks, I started noticing more and more problems. At first, it was just an issue with desktop icons being rearranged after waking up from power save mode. Then I started having problems with the monitor coming out of sleep at all (I have to hit the reset button on the computer to restart). Now, I am having big problems with the monitor immediately going to sleep when I try to log in to my Windows account. More than half the time, the monitor will not properly resume from the computer being asleep, or from a warm or cold reboot of the system. After 2,3 or 4 presses of the reset button, my desktop will finally load.
The display will often go into power save mode right after I enter my password to log into my windows account, and my desktop never loads. Therefore, it appears that the problem does not have anything to do with Windows, drivers or any other software. This points to a hardware and/or firmware or faulty cable issue between the motherboard and monitor. Correct DP 1.2 communication is not occurring consistently.
Please advise what graphics drivers have been tested with this monitor to work correctly using 3840x2160 60hz, DP 1.2.
Please advise if there is a monitor firmware update available to address this issue. Current version is A03, which I believe is the latest.
I have tried numerous things to resolve this issue (uninstalling and reinstalling, checking registry for correct EDID information, using different Intel graphics drivers, reset monitor to factory defaults,etc.)
Please advise what other steps I can take to resolve the issue.
