Hello all. I have two US2414H I'm trying to connect to my 5-year-old Dell XPS. The NVDIA Geoforce GT 740 LP graphics card has only one of each DVI, HDMI, and VGA ports. No DP ports at all. I managed to connect one monitor via a HDMI to HDMI connection. The manual says to use to DP/miniDP cable to daisy-chain the two monitors together, but I cannot get that to work. I've tried switching which ends I plug into which monitor.
What if I got a DP/DP cable or a miniDP/miniDP cable, rather than using the DP/miniDP cable that came with the monitor?
I'm beginning to worry that, without connecting monitor 1 via DP connection, I won't be able to daisy chain. Am I right, or is there a solution? Am I going to be forced to install a new graphics card with DP ports? $$$$$
I really didn't think I needed to be an IT expert just to install a monitor. JSYK, I'm far from an IT expert. LOL!
FYI, I was on the phone last night with Dell tech support, and the rep told me that, without a DP port on my PC, I'd need an HDMI to DVI cable adapter. I bought one, and that still didn't work. Not amused.
