I am using an AMD 5670 on my Dell 9100 desktop (circa 2010) and just got a Dell U2715H monitor. I can't seem to get the max monitor resolution of 2560x1440 so far.
I have tried with a hi-speed HDMI cable and that didn't do better than 2048x1152. I also connected a white DVI cable to the card and then connected to the monitor by using an adapter that went from a female DVI to a male DisplayPort plug. That didn't work either. On AMD Catalyst is says the Max Reported Resolution for the display is 2048x1152. The monitor show a max res of 2560x1440 in its setup.
But despite the info from the AMD site below, my card only has a the following outputs:
HDMI, DVI (white) and VGA (blue). Specs say it has a Display Port jack, but mine doesn't have one. Also, how do i tell if my DVI output is dual-link, even tho the specs say ti should be?
Many thanks. The monitor is nice, but not worth it if I can't get 2560 resolution. I am mainly doing photo and video editing and not gaming. Do i need to create a custom setting for the card?
I've seen others on the board with this problem, but I've never seen it solved.
