I have a U2713HM which I bought from Amazon UK about 3 years ago. I was doing some spreadsheet work then went for a short break, and when I returned, the display was flickering and garbled, with only about the top third working normally. I tried powering off and on, then I unplugged every cable except the power cable and tried the diagnostic mode (button 1 and 4 for 2 secs). This confirmed what appears to be a serious fault (see attached photo). The odd thing is, despite the screen not having any connections other than power, you can still make out the spreadsheet that was running when it failed, along with the Dell diagnostic screen and the 'cable not connected' box all simultaneously. Maybe it's a frame buffer issue, I don't know. The warranty for the display began on October 11th, 2012 and expired just over a month ago so I was wondering what my choices were for getting it repaired. Is having it repaired off-warranty reasonably cheap or is it just better to throw it out and buy new? Three years isn't a long lifespan for a monitor...
