Hello, I telephoned UK Dell support today regarding problems with my monitor - wavy horizontal lines have appeared on the RHS of the screen. After checking the serial number and confirming some basic troubleshooting ( I'd changed the dvi cable, tried with a vga cable and finally tried another old monitor which works fine as well as resetting the dell monitor back to factory defaults and running the built in diagnostics) the woman I spoke to informed me that as the monitor was still under warranty she would arrange for a new monitor to be delivered and the old monitor uplifted. I have just received the email and under and it states
System Type : LCDTV | Product Description : OPTIPLEX GX270 |
which is obviously incorrect. I've just tried calling Dell uk twice but the first time it didn't accept the express service code and the second time the woman I spoke to said she'd need to transfer me to the monitor dept however after 16 minutes on hold the call was terminated.
My service call number is <private data> . Is it possible to confirm that it is actually my monitor that is being replaced - I don't want to receive a LCD TV or Optiplex PC. The woman I spoke to on the phone earlier today was aware it was a monitor as she took down the serial number and also asked me to confirm that the monitor screen wasn't cracked in any way.
