I have 2 of these monitors. I initially tried to daisy chain them on my Radeon card which is supposed to support 8 of these monitors on DP.
It must have taken me 2 hours to get them working, I had to connect each one onto the seperate DP port on the ATI card. This was on Windows 7, it worked for about 8 months.
Sometimes though, when the PC came out of hibernation or sleep, the monitors went all mental, I figured out I had to pull the power plug out (not just soft off) Hard off, then plug them both in and eveything redtected fine. OK, i thought my ATI card must be a bit on the old side and some issue there.
I upgraded to Windows 10 and all sort of other problems started to happen. So I just put one monitor on HDMI and the other on DP. No issues since then
Now I have a new Dell Latitude E7440 laptop. I did a daisy chain and plugged it in to the laptop, wow. It worked. OK, used it like this for several hours, had to go to something and after returning both monitors blank (black screen - no error messages) ??? huh?
Again, started messing around with the monitors, ahh. OK, hard power cycle. Boom everything back to normal.
What is the issue with this? Its definatel not the GFX card or the Drivers, since one PC had ATI drivers, and this new Dell has original Intel drivers. SAME PROBLEM!
I read this guy bought 6 monitors and jsut gave up and returned them
I want to buy another monitor but I dont want these bloody problems?! What can I do to solve this problem? I am mobile developer and will be pluggin in at office, then at client, then back at office. I dont want to be messing about with these monitors. Any fixes?
