I have a pair of S2340L's one has recently developed a green tint and image retention on the right edge, and both suffer from faint vertical lines.
I noticed the vertical lines on some some colours and it seemed to just be caused by the subpixels, however I have noticed (on both monitors) that depending on what else is on the screen can cause stronger lines to appear over everything.
You can see the lines in these images, especially strong on the blue rectangle but also visible over everything else, these lines only appear if the green grid (pictured left) covers a large portion of the monitor. If you mouse over the image you should you an see a section i've enhanced to make the effect more obvious.
What I want to know is if this is a design flaw with the monitor and affects the entire range, or if it's just mine. I want to return the monitor with the green tint regardless but I want to know if I should return the other as well. And if this model suffers from these vertical lines, can I get them replaced with a different model that doesn't add vertical lines to everything.
I'm also sure you've heard this before, but having support that requires a service tag, and then not supplying service tags for monitors is ridiculous. Even if you can still get support by phone, your locked out from all forms of communication that would allow you to type order numbers, serial numbers and anything else you need, and instead force you to repeat strings of letters and numbers over the phone, hoping that you have been correctly understood, and understood correctly any numbers they give back.
