Hello.
Just got a P2715Q monitor today and it works fine with HDMI cable at 3840 x 2160, 29 Hertz. But when I try to use it with the included miniDP to DP cable it causes the Alienware 15 (2015) to reboot to the Win 8.1 frownie face blue screen where it tries to reboot and just keeps coming back to frownie face. Just using the built-in mGTX970 graphics. It refuses to run under DP but works fine under HDMI. Eventually I will do a GTX980 in a Graphics Amplifier so I am not totally worried, but that is a few months off. Hey, I wanna run Fallout 4 eventually at 60 Mhz so this is sort of freaking me out.
Any ideas? I tried all the suggestions for testing out the monitor here before asking for help. No crazy mods here, just one out of the box Dell (AW15 laptop) talking to an out of the box Dell (P2715Q monitor).
