I recently purchased a U2713HM monitor from Micro Center (a US Dell retailer). It came with bright pixels. So I went to call Dell customer support to process a warranty exchange. It went pretty well as just 2 days later I see a big box in the lobby.
The box however has "REFURBISHED" plastered on the outside, and to add to my disappointment came with a dark spot. I'm not sure if its a dead pixel (or a few pixels) since it looks rather like some dirt trapped underneath the surface of the LCD. It appears dirty-black regardless of color.
I contacted the Dell customer support rep again, but he refused to get me another replacement, saying that I need to have at least 6 dead pixels to process another replacement. He didn't even mentioned anything about it being refurbished.
I read many posts in here that the policy is to replace with new monitors within 21 days of receipt. My receipt is 5 days old at the moment.
Am I out of options? I'm thinking if this does not resolve I would just return both monitors from where they came when I still can.
