As per the title the USB 3.0 Hub on my monitor is only giving USB 2.0 speeds and all devices connected detected as a USB 1.0/2.0 device even if they are USB 3.0 compatible. It was previously working at USB 3.0 speeds until one day it didn't. I'm fairly confident this is a hardware issue.
I run the cable directly from the USB upstream port to my Macbook Pro's USB 3.0 Port. I have also tested with a different Windows 10 Laptop where the port is USB 3.0.
I have contacted Dell to try another upstream cable hoping that it was the cable's fault, they have delivered another cable but unfortunately, the hub is still operating at USB 2.0 speeds. Other things I've tried also include a hard reset.
The rest of the device is working fine. However, what is unusual is that I'm not able to look up the service tag or the serial number on the Dell Support page, both numbers throw an invalid error and asks me to double check my entered value. I purchased straight from Dell.
Does anyone have suggestions on what other things can be done before I send this monitor back and to obtain a replacement? Really disappointed in the lack of quality control considering that I paid quite a premium for this.
