This is a question for DELL Chris-M. I have a problem with driving a 4K monitor from the surface dock. The advice below was given recently. Microsoft are denying all knowledge of this to me.
Do you have anything I can go back to them with to show them this is a real issue, and there is hardware in development. Some statement from them, or someone I can refer them to?

Short term workaround =
Turn MST Daisy chain off
Monitor 1 connects to the SP3 dock
Monitor 2 connects to the SP3
Long term solution =
Microsoft is aware of the issue with their dock. They are developing a special connector dongle for the dock which works with the Link Training process to boost the signal strength negotiated with the external monitors. As to when this will be available, sometime in September. Note, the dongle will not be available from stores. You must open a case with Microsoft and show them that the issue occurs when connecting directly to the dock mDP. They will then send you the dongle.
