I've been using my Dell U2414H for over a year now. I use the two HDMI ports for my consoles and the DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort for my laptop (Mac/Windows).
Everything worked fine and I never had any real issues. Until last week. I had shut down my monitor and my laptop. The next day when I booted up my Windows partition i saw the error that my Dell U2414H had been recognised as a smaller display (I remember it being called portable display or something) with only the resolution of 640 by 480. I restarted my computer in Mac OS X to see if this was maybe a software issue but on my Mac partition I also encountered problems. The display is also in a very small resolution.
I tried using the cable of my brother who has the same monitor and again the display is recognised as a very low res display. Using a different computer has the same effect.
Then I tried unhooking one of my console's HDMI cables and used it on my laptop. It correctly recognised my monitor as a 1080p display.
Can this issue be resolved? Or does anyone have any information on this issue?
