My elderly in-laws call me with all of their computer issues. Two months ago their monitor was no longer receiving a signal. I originally removed the VGA to DMI adapter and plugged it into the other port. ( I am sorry I can't be more specific, I do not know the names but there are two ports on the back of comp for monitors). Graphics were a bit off but monitor was working again. A week later it was not receiving a signal through that port either. Initially I replaced the VGA to DMI adapter but that did not work. I then purchased a new monitor cord, plugged into VGA to DMI adapter and everything worked fine again.
Fast forward two months and the exact same problem. Stopped receiving signal, removed adapter and changed ports. Worked again for 2 days then no signal from other port either. Purchased another monitor cord, plugged back into adapter and everything is working fine again.
Any idea on what is happening and why? Below are as much of the specs as I could find that you were looking for.
