Hi,
I have an U2414H since last October and been using the miniDP since. I always had some weird behavior from time to time, but only decided to report them now. I recently switched to HDMI and this resolved every issues.
- Sometimes, when my computer let the screen sleeps for a long time, the screen won't come back. If I let it sleep for the night, chances are that in the morning, the screen won't come back on. I have to restart the computer or power cycle the monitor by pulling the power cord off. Just to be clear, my Windows does not go to sleep. It just turns off my display after 10 minutes. My Windows never sleeps and is configured as High Performance in the Power Management Profiles.
- Using miniDP, I am not able to get into the BIOS/UEFI of my motherboard when I reboot. If I try to get into the BIOS after a reboot, the monitor stay in sleep mode. I must do a proper shutdown/startup and then I can get into the BIOS/UEFI. At first, I thought it was related to my motherboard BIOS (I have a Gigabyte H87-D3H), but the issue disappeared when using HDMI instead of miniDP.
My video card is a MSI R9 290, but I originally had a XFX 5770 when I got the screen. I had the issues above with both video cards. The screen is using DP 1.1 because the XFX 5770 was only DP 1.1 and never bothered to change to 1.2 once I got the R9 290. I only have one screen, so I don't see why I would require DP 1.2 (no daisy chaining and only 1080p).
I noticed a lot of DP issues topics with the U2414H while Googling. The revision of my monitor is A01. Are there new revisions that fixes DP issues ? Can I flash a new revision/firmware ? I would prefer using DP for my computer and keep my HDMI inputs available for other devices.
I did not try to use another DP cable because I don't have any other. I used the one that was included in the box.
For identifications purposes, here's a picture of my serial number, revision and manufacturing date : goo.gl/.../TeCjQirtsjLc9bUW9
Any suggestions ?
Thank you,
Guillaume.
