S2240M, Nvidia GTX 770, 1280x960 Black bars

I have windows 7 and a  nvidia gtx 770.  everytime i change the res to 1280x960 i get the black bars doesnt matter if i go into nvidia control panel and put full screen or if i get into monitor menu and changed the aspect ratio it still wont stretch
