I've had a white spot under my 2713HM monitor's screen for over a year now. I have no idea how it got there. Since I've recently started to use the monitor a lot I would like this fixed. I purchased directly from Dell with a 5 year warranty and would like to know if I send this in for repair will the issue be fixed and my original monitor be sent back to me, or will I be sent a different refurbished monitor?
I do not want a different monitor sent back to me unless the screen defect/dirt (whatever it is) cannot be fixed/cleaned. The reason for this is that upon initial purchase I had to send the display back for replacement due to bad backlight bleeding. The replacement was satisfactory. However I also have dozens of these monitors at my place of work and I know full-well how common this backlight bleeding is on this model, so I do not want to risk being sent a replacement monitor with what I would consider a worse problem (the backlight bleeding) just to fix the white spot.
I am unable to capture with my inferior cell phone camera a good picture of the problem, but below is a picture of someone else's laptop display having the same issue. The white spot on mine shaped differently but it is the same problem.
