Hey, I don't know if this is the right place to be asking this, so I hope you will be able to help me. I have a problem with my brand new dell u2412m 24' monitor. I can use the monitor just fine, but if the computer stays off for more than a day (even 2 days is enough to cause this predicament), when I try to turn the computer on, the monitor will just stays in power saver mode (with the orange lighting in the power button) and nothing I do wakes it up. I can use the keyboard and mouse and I can hear that the computer is responding, but the monitor is just plain black with power saver mode on. I tried switching to a different "input source", pressing keys, restarting the computer, but to no avail. Eventually I found a crude way of solving this. After I see that the monitor won't exit power saver mode, I press the power button of the computer and turn it off, then I unplug the power supply connector from the monitor, and press the power button of the monitor for 10 seconds, then I plug it back and turn on the computer, and it seems to solve the problem, but it is a very crude and temporary solution. The monitor shouldn't behave like that, should it? It is a new monitor so I don't want to already relay on these shady methods which may ruin my monitor. Is there a way I can actually solve it without unplugging and plugging back the monitor every 2 days? Thanks in advance, Daniel.
