Hi,
I received my new Dell U2412M UltraSharp 24” Monitor with LED last week. It's a great monitor - which I am using with my MacBook Pro 17" (late 2009) via mini displayport-VGA.
Ever since it arrived however I have had a problem with the monitor going black at random intervals. This happens sometimes every 10 or so minutes - and sometimes more frequently. The monitor stays on - but just goes black for 1-2 seconds then illuminates itself once more. I understand that Dell has no drivers for the Mac - and no testing has been done on Apple machines - however I would be interested to know if anyone has had this issue and has found a way to solve it? I am not convinced that this would be a compatibility issue between Apple and Dell - so please chime in if you have experienced similar issues on other platforms.
I have checked the connection between my computer and the monitor and found no issues - and the VGA cable I am using is the one supplied by Dell - i.e. brand new. I have never had any problems with my mini displayport adapter, or my MacBook on other monitors or projectors.
