My monitor was delivered today. Right after turning it on I noticed some terrible yellow tint (very "warm" colors), I tried to calibrate it for more natural temperature and found that whatever I do there is still yellow tint gradient on the left side!
Yellow tint gradient is clearly visible all the time (especially on Mac's standard gray window panels, they seem light-blue-gray on the right and light-brown-yellow on the left) and there are several vertical "shadow" stripes on the left side visible on gray. Shadow stripes will probably be much more noticeable in everyday use. You can see both problems on this photo:

Backlight bleed (IPS glow) is impressively bad on black background:

Both photos taken with iPhone in a dark room, monitor was set to 50% brightness and 50% contrast.
My previous monitor was 2408WFP and it did not suffer from any of these problems, except for a slightly lighter colors on the left side (just some normal PVA glow).
This article says that this monitor is not supposed to have any backlight bleed http://www.trustedreviews.com/dell-s2740l_Monitor_review_image-quality-value-and-verdict_Page-2. I see disproof to everything good said about this monitor in that article right in front of me!
Is such image quality normal/expected/(matches standards) or is it just a defective unit? Should I request a replacement?
It seems like DELL's monitors quality is continuously dropping for past five+ years :(
