I just purchased a Dell S2340L monitor for my home office. I am noticing a very small grid/dot pattern in certain colors, mostly in the blue range. I do professional graphics work and first noticed it in Photoshop swatches, but it is consistent across all uses (The Windows start-up screen has the same small pattern).
This is so faint that I guarantee most users would not notice it. It really is more of an annoyance because I know it shouldn't do it. I carry my Dell Latitude E6510 (Windows 7) laptop back and forth from work to home and have an older 23" monitor at work that displays the exact same logo file (with blue color) clean and crisp.
Everything else is super sharp and crisp. most colors look great, gradients are smooth, movies, photos etc. Just a very small pixelly grid/pattern in the blue range.
I've tried color calibration, gamma, dell display manager, etc. Is this a bad monitor, or are the 2340's all like this?
