I was sitting there at work confidently telling my colleagues about the reasons I buy Dell ...like it all comes to your door in a box, operating system loaded, everything you need, just unpack and connect it all and you are ready to go. Ok I just bought my third consecutive Dell and confidently unpacked everything, all going well until I tried to connect the monitor (an S2440L). The cable provided did not match the PC sockets - any of them. No problem I thought. Just call support and the mistake would be rectified. Except that they looked up the model numbers and told me that indeed the cable would not fit and that I should go and buy an HDMI cable. Okaaaay so that means the good old familiar Dell is not looking at mundane things like plugs and cables any more? Why is it no longer a cohesive bundle? I do believe that the connections should be matched by the company and would be happy to receive my HDMI cable from Dell.
